| Robert created a critically acclaimed programme about the history of music in movies from 1927 with the advent of sound. He traces the history of the musical film from hits like 42nd Street and the Astaire and Rodgers Musical to the careers of Judy Garland, Alice Faye, Frank Sinatra and many more. He also spotlighted the composers like Jerome Kern, Jules Styne, Johnny Burke and Johnny Mercer who wrote during this prolific time. The whole show climaxed with an 8 minute medley of Oscar winning songs. This show toured extensively around the UK. |
